For a creation to be, a Creator there must be; For a Creator to be a creator, a creation there must be! God, in Islaam, is called, among other things, Al Khaaliq or The Creator. Everything beside God is called Al Khaaliqun or The Creations.

That is God, your Lord, there is no god but He; the Creator of all things, therefore serve Him, and He has charge of all things. Surrat ul An`aam, 6: 102.

Of course, there are Creators but different beings create differently. God, however, is A'hsann ul Khaaliq in or the Best of the Creators(23.14) Why is God calling Himself the Best of the "Creators"? Because anyone or anything else that creates is itself created. Therefore, it can never be like God whom is not created. So, what is created and how? God tells us in the Qur'an that He created every living thing from water;

And God has created from water every living creature: so of them is that which walks upon its belly, and of them is that which walks upon two feet, and of them is that which walks upon four; God creates what He pleases; surely God has power over all things. Surrat ul Nuur, 24: 45.
